The Gloucester Area Modelers Association (GAMA) is a group of radio controlled aircraft enthusiasts.  Our purpose is to help promote model aviation and share a common bond in the enjoyment of our hobby/sport by our active participation in GAMA and through the exchange of ideas and experiences of our members.  We are a small, but active club that flies everything from one ounce helicopters up to giant scale gas airplanes.  Sundays at the field are usually our busiest days, but when the weather is nice you will find us flying on Saturdays or throughout the week.  We operate according to Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) safety guidelines and highly encourage our pilots to fly safely and responsibly.  But since we are a small club, you will find that we do not have the numerous guidelines and rules that must be adhered to that are found at larger clubs.  We believe that common sense, politeness, and courtesy for other members when on the ground or in the air is more than enough "rules" to create an atmosphere conducive to enjoying our hobby and a club environment.

The GAMA field is home base to the Wings Across America 2008 adventure that begin on May 24, 2008.  The Stevens AeroModel airplane called the SQuiRT is currently on a 22,000 mile adventure touring all 50 of our United Sates and it all started right here at our GAMA field by one of our club members.  For more info on the WAA-08 adventure visit www.WAA-08.org.
